Dialogue

Y: This theme of the abortion is very controversial, I have had friends than they have aborted
because of to than they didn´t protect when they were with yours boyfriends or after of
someone party. And, it don´t seems to me than because that it should abort, Though there are
some reasons than if seem to me validates for to make the abortion.
S: For you… what would the valid reasons?
y: I would be according if for the pregnancy the life of the mother or the fetus are in danger, or
in case of than the fetus comes on with malformation.
J: yuliana those are basically the conditions approved by the constitutional court only removing
the violation case, why do not you consider the case of violation among the valid for you?
y: I don´t consider it, since the baby isn´t culpable of this situation, for sure, they would have
than bring to her a good monitoring to the mother, and seem to me better than she gives in
adoption to the baby rather of steal to him his life.
S: since in this case it seems better. but in the end depend only on the decision of the mother.
J: that is true I have listened of various cases of mothers of children resulting from violation that
in spite of bitter experience that they suffered ahead and never take out accuse for it, but sadly
that is not the general case, usually these children if they are raised by their mothers nearly
always both physically and psychologically mistreated
y: yes, it´s true this than Juan David says with respect to some cases where the children are
abused, this way, they could to generate too a conduct very resentful in the face the society
and even they could to follow the very one steps of the them fathers or they to be involved in
some conflict type.
S: and this would only lead to further increase this cycle of suffering.
J: would be very good which generating more campaigns about how to prevent pregnancy and
to teaching them man about the proper treatment of women
y: And keep to mind too than this education begins in the home, with the example of theirs
own family.
S:anyway it's good to recognize the cultural change that has ever ha actions I had to take the
woman who was raped, before women had to marry her attacker, now she can decide what to
do with your life, well that at least in our society. I do not know as in other cultures.
S:Well, and how it is handling this Colombia ?
J: already exists the law of the December 17, 2012, which approves of abortion in the two cases
you say and I told you, and if the mother have psychological problems
S: Although the law protect this, I think that the baby is not to blame and usually mothers who
decide to abort, repent and believe this guilty conscience it brings, it is difficult to face this
Y: If that was my case, I would prefer give him in adoption as I did say before.
J: same I think it depends more upon each person, but if you decide to bring a child into the
world is better to be responsible for him, but in many cases the only form of be is to give it up
for adoption is best for the child to be abused physically and psychologically by her biological
mother.
S: and in a way it is good that legalized abortion in such cases, since in this way many women
do not lose their lives in clandestine clinics that were dedicated to this.

y: Some days ago, the news mention than the mortality rate of the illegal aborts arrived until
the 300.000 per year and in Colombia is the 3th cause of maternity mortality, since are made
without the minimum guarantees health.
S: it is also important to note that to get this in the hands of the eps will ensure that these
procedures are performed by qualified personnel, ensuring the health of the mother, and to end
the mafia was taking advantage of this situation so common in our environment
J: but well although this in part will remedy the situation, clandestine abortions clinics will never
disappear because of women with no apparent reason decided abort her child even against the
opinion of your partner or family just to maintain your current way of life
S: sure. it is important to have the opinion of the family, as it is normal to feel that they will be
rejected by this situation, regardless of whether they are guilty.
Y: Yes, in that case, decides than decides the women, is very necessary the familiar support,
since, this situation doesn´t easy.
S: every mother who is in this situation should be directed psychologically, so that this does not
lead to a significant emotional imbalance.
Y: I´m according, since in short, it´s about of to decide relating a life than is in way, and they
should have the wisdom for to take a decision such important.
J: well I am going to let them partial examination.
Y: Ready! I see you on these days in class, take care!
S: see you later!!

History and Debate of Abortion

History and Debate of Abortion

Abortion involves terminating a pregnancy by the removing or expelling of a fetus or embryo from the uterus. This is sometimes due to the death of the fetus; however, it can also result in the death of it. Abortion is a very controversial topic because its frequency of occurrence, legal, cultural and religious status varies extensively in different regions of the world. There are many high-profile groups that champion either pro-choice or pro-life, and such organizations bring up a host of issues to further their often political agenda. In the United States, pro-life groups favor greater legal restrictions on abortion, or even the complete prohibition of it. They argue that a human fetus is a human being with a right to live, so abortion is similar to murder. In contrast, pro-choice groups argue that a woman has certain reproductive rights, especially the choice on whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term.
One of the most common reasons why some women want to have an abortion is because they have the desire to delay childbearing because they themselves are young. Other reasons include not wanting to stop work or schooling and/or because of financial or relationship instability. These reasons are consistent across numerous countries, including America. Most abortions that occur in the United States are obtained by women of a minority race because they are having higher incidences of unintended pregnancies. In developing countries, women have the additional concern of health risks and complications that occur as a result of unsafe practices in medical settings.
Some abortions happen because of societal pressures. This occurs to when there is little social support, when a specific gender of a child is preferred or when governments enforce population control, such as China's one child policy. It is suggested that sex-selective abortion could account for disparities between the birth rates of male and female children in some countries. Many countries in Asia like China, South Korea and India have cultures that prefer male children.
When abortion occurs because of societal pressures, women sometimes have to resort to unsafe practices because the legalized healthcare route is not an option. As a result, countries that have restrictive abortive laws have more women that seek unsafe abortions. Unsafe abortions occur when they are performed by individuals without adequate medical skills or in an unhygienic environment. Such situations occur globally, and result in about 70,000 maternal deaths and 5 million maternal disabilities per year.
Currently, laws regarding abortion are diverse and differ by states in the U.S. Some states have a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion can be carried out and require that information regarding fetal development is given out. The abortion debate also focuses on whether laws should be passed mandating that the pregnant woman has the consent of others, especially if the woman is a minor.

Abortion Debate Controversy

Induced abortions have aroused debate, controversy and activism because it is related to ethical, moral, philosophical, biological and legal issue. This is a personal topic because it touches on a person's value system. Some pro-life groups have taken their case to the extremes and have targeted doctors and facilities that provide abortions with various types of violence, from murder to arson. Four United States doctors were even assassinated to further their cause. The question remains: is violence really necessary?
